Description
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) conducts the Regional Price Index (RPI) every two years. The RPI provides a unique data set that examines the cost of living in regional areas compared to the cost of living in the metropolitan area. It is an essential component of the district allowance paid to state public servants stationed outside the metropolitan area.
