Description
The SA Department of the Premier and Cabinet is currently examining a range of issues relating to greenhouse gas abatement and international ratification of the Kyoto Protocol. As part of this work, consultants will be asked to identify and report on the in-principle and practical implementation issues associated with the possible introduction of a national carbon emissions trading scheme. The consultants brief will include a request for modelling of economic impacts and will provide information on key issues such as: ·overseas experience with emissions trading schemes ·best practice approaches ·preferred scheme if implemented in Australia ·the role of State Governments ·economic and employment impacts for South Australia, including at an industry and regional level. It is anticipated that the cost of the project will be within the range $30-60,000, inclusive of all expenses.
