Description
SARDI provides research and development services to the State Government, commercial clients and research partners to help make South Australia’s primary industries and regions internationally competitive and ecologically sustainable.
SARDI has a requirement for a vessel to be used in open water conditions for the provision of scientific services.
It is anticipated that the vessel will be approximately 7.2m in length and a beam of 2.6m to allow transport on a trailer while providing a stable work platform and adequate storage for ancillary equipment.
The vessel will be purpose built and of proven, robust design with good stability and handling qualities. The vessel will be built to the current NSCV 2C standards for unrestricted operations out to 30nm.
The vessel will be launched from boat ramps throughout the state and will be in operation approximately 60 days per annum during which time the vessel may be transported over road surfaces of varying condition and distances exceeding 1,000kms in a single trip. For this reason both boat and twin axel trailer (tandem) must be of robust construction.
