Print Room Printers

The Print and Design Centre (PDC) of DFAT is seeking to purchase two colour digital print devices to replace four current printers (2 black & white and 2 colour). The scope of the Statement of Work is the supply of print devices and software to PDC, including: delivery, installation, print integration and management software, support services, and training of three PDC personnel.

The PDC print a range of products for DFAT, including plastic comb bound A4 documents with tabs, two side-stapled booklets, A5 and A4 saddle stitched booklets, 60% reduced side stapled booklets, A3 posters, SRA3 presentation folders, folded pamphlets, A4 certificates and DL and C4 envelopes. These documents can vary in size from 1 page to several hundred pages printed on various stocks, including, but not limited to, gloss, satin, bond, synthetic, card and tab stock.

PDC utilises two monochrome Print Devices rated at 105 copies per minute, and two colour print devices rated at 65 full colour copies per minute. The total PDC printer work rate is approximately 250,000 copy click counts a month (including 90,000 colour and 160,000 black & white per month), averaged over two years. The vast majority of colour pages are minimal to partial page coverage.

For monochrome and colour printing, the PDC works from master documents in either hard or soft copy. The PDC prints mostly on 100 per cent recycled A4 paper marked suitable for use in laser printers.
