Australian Government Department of Social Services
Request for Tender for global cultural orientation services for Australia's offshore Humanitarian Programme clients
Details
Description
AUSCO is delivered on behalf of the Commonwealth, as represented by DSS. The program supports humanitarian entrants in the first stage of their settlement in Australia by providing practical advice about the journey to Australia and information about what to expect post-arrival.
AUSCO marks the beginning of the settlement journey. As such, it is the first opportunity to provide education and advice to new entrants to Australia about what they may experience and to assist in managing their expectations. It also affords an opportunity to provide early messaging regarding employment and education pathways and the importance of English language acquisition.
AUSCO is offered to all humanitarian entrants over the age of five (5) years prior to their departure for Australia.Participation is voluntary and free of charge to participants.
