Description
The Nationally Funded Centres (NFC) program supports the introduction of high cost, highly specialised clinical practices and technologies with limited demand, to ensure equitable access to these practices and technologies for all Australians.
The NFC Reference Group, comprising representation from all states and territories and the Australian Government, is responsible for management of the NFC Program and reports to the Australian Health Ministers Advisory Council (AHMAC) through the Health Policy Priorities Principal Committee (HPPPC). As part of the management of the program the NFC Reference Group is responsible for ensuring that existing NFCs are reviewed every three years and at other times as indicated.
The Pancreas Transplant Program which is undertaken at two centres, Monash Medical Centre, Victoria and Westmead Hospital, New South Wales is due for a regular review.
A consultant is sought to review the existing Pancreas Transplant NFC program.
