Routine Maintenance on Sterilisers at RBA Zone Sites

The South Metropolitan Health Service’s Infrastructure Facilities Management & Health Support Services Division provides a wide range of services at Royal Perth Hospital (RPH), Armadale Health Service (AHS) and Bentley Health Service (BHS), known as the RBA Zone, The hospitals in the RBA Zone each utilise a range of medical steam sterilisers to sterilise its equipment, including surgical instruments. These sterilisers are critical to eliminate the risk of infection to patients.

The RBA Zone sites listed above require the provision of scheduled routine maintenance and certification of sterilisers to maintain normal operation in compliance with Australian Standards in order to prevent bacterial growth that can present an infection risk to patients.

All sterilisation services must be compliant with the relevant Australian Standard for the respective steriliser type.
