Description

Provision of a national telephone line service and associated services for consumers that provides:

(a) Contact with a registered pharmacist to seek evidence-based medicines information and guidance regarding the safe and appropriate use of prescription, over-the-counter and complementary (herbal, ‘natural’, vitamin and mineral) medicines.

(b) A way for consumers to report suspected adverse events to any medicine to the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA) to support national pharmacovigilance initiatives, via consumer-initiated telephone calls. This includes the service completing and submitting adverse event reports to the TGA by either:

(i) directly entering the report details using the online portal at https://aems.tga.gov.au/

(ii) utilising the TGA file upload facility, which enables bulk upload of reports via a secure sharepoint site using an appropriately formatted .csv file.
