The University of Queensland
For the Provision of a Pigtailing System
Details
Description
The purpose of this Invitation to Offer is to obtain competitive offers from suppliers who can supply, deliver, install and maintain a pigtailing system for the University of Queensland’s School of Mathematics and Physics.
The proposed pigtailing system will allow UQ to bond optical fibres to chip-based circuits that emit/collect light either horizontally or vertically, and perform waveguide-to-waveguide bonding. This proposed equipment will provide the capacity to integrate precision quantum and photonic sensors developed in UQ laboratories into industry-ready prototypes. This will strengthen industry and defence collaborations, providing a pathway through the technology readiness levels towards applications, enhancing the real-world outcomes and defence-relevance of quantum and photonics research at UQ.
