AMSA is required to manage the operational delivery of a national fixed wing aerial dispersant capability in accordance with the Inter-Governmental Agreement for the National Plan for Maritime Environmental Emergencies.
The application of dispersants by fixed wing aircraft is the most effective response strategy available to response agencies managing large oil spills.
