Australian Government Department of Education
Job Ready Workplace Assessment (JRWA)
Details
Description
TRA is a business unit located in the Department of Education, Skills and Employment. It is the skills assessing authority for approximately 130 technical and trade occupations specified by the Department of Home Affairs. TRA operates a number of different skills assessment services, which vary depending on the circumstances of the applicant.
TRA skills assessments are principally for migration and are intended to ensure that a successful applicant is able to work at the required skills level for their nominated occupation. The assessments also provide an assurance to government and to the individual that their training and experience is relevant and appropriate for the Australian labour market.
The JRP is for international student graduates who hold an Australian qualification issued by a Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) registered training organisation (RTO) based on studies in Australia.
JRWA is the third step of the JRP. The purpose of JRWA is to assess if participants are operating at the required skill level for their nominated occupation in an Australian workplace.
