Description
The Department of Economic Development is seeking tenders for the establishment of a new, third-generation, business incubation service. The service will be based at the Tasmanian Technopark at Dowsings Point, Glenorchy, but will assist businesses that are located both on and off site. The incubator will be a key component in the development of smart technology businesses in Tasmania. Tenderers are invited to submit proposals for an incubation program that will: - assist early stage businesses to rapidly reach their full potential - improve the rate and success of commercialisation and R & D in Tasmania - assist in identifying national and international gateways and channels for companies participating in the program - provide links and pathways with the university and its R & D programs. Tenderers will be required to establish the incubator over an initial three-month period and manage the incubator for a subsequent two-year trial. The department therefore intends to award a 27-month contract to the successful tenderer. The contract may be extended for up to three years, subject to budget and performance.
