WA Department of Justice
Provision of Role Players for Corrective Training Academy
Details
Description
The Department of Justice Corrective Services Academy (the Academy) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and is responsible for the identification and delivery of learning and professional development for all Corrective Services staff, including foundation, ongoing work skills, corporate governance and compliance and leadership development.
The Academy is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor for the provision of role players for scenario based training activities. The use of role players is necessary to ensure scenario assessments undertaken by staff to be awarded the Certificate lll in Corrections meet the Principles and Rules of Assessment as per Standard 1 of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015. The Academy is mandated to comply with these requirements in order to maintain its registration as a RTO.
The role players are required to provide ‘real life’ scenario training to various Department of Justice (DOJ) personnel to demonstrate the assessor is assured that the quality, quantity and relevance of the assessment evidence enables a judgement to be made of a learner’s competency.
In most circumstances, the role players participate in scripted scenarios as prisoners and/or offenders to simulate the real life environments and scenarios that custodial and community staff may face as part of their duties.
