Boorloo Bridge (Causeway Bridge) User Intercept, Online Local Businesses & Residents’ Survey, and Focus Group - Post construction

DoT is interested to capture people’s perception of the new Boorloo Bridge and the old Causeway Traffic Bridge to understand how the new infrastructure is changing the pattern of active travel in its vicinity. The main objective of this evaluation is to evaluate the impact of the new bridge on the wider context and the overall user’s experiences and identify opportunities for improvement. The purpose of this service is for the Consultant to: - Gather data for the client through intercept survey of the users of both bridges and online survey of local businesses and residents living in the surrounding catchment. To monitor the change overtime, both surveys will be conducted twice, in April-May 2025 and March-May 2026. It is anticipated for the user’s behaviour to be adjusted at the time of the first round of data collection and fully normalised in early 2026. - Analyse and synthesise data from intercept and online surveys, permanent piezoelectric bike counters, video surveys and behaviour mapping to aggregate and interpret overall findings and outcomes in relation to the evaluation plan objectives. The Client will share collected data from bike counters, video surveys and behaviour mapping with the Consultant. - Conduct a focus group (Optional Service) with internal DoT stakeholders to capture lessons learnt from feasibility through to project implementation.
