Description

Port of Townsville Limited (the Corporation) is continuing to plan for the long-term future through controlled and well planned expansion that is sustainable, timely, financially sound and environmentally responsible.

In 2006 the Corporation undertook a 12-month process to develop a Port Master Plan to guide the advancement of the port over the next 25 years. This study concluded that under a high growth scenario, Port of Townsville throughput could treble from 10 million tonnes per annum to about 30 million tonnes per annum by 2030. To meet this projected growth the Corporation has identified a number of projects, including the extension of Berth 10, that will be undertaken to maximise the efficiency and use of existing infrastructure and minimise the port’s potential future footprint.

The Corporation invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified consultants to undertake environmental, planning, and engineering studies to enable submission of an EIS for the Berth 10 Extension Project (B10X). This is an exciting opportunity to integrate essential port infrastructure with a highly usable and welcoming public interface between the port and city of Townsville.

The consultancy is multi-disciplinary in nature and it is expected the Consultant will manage all disciplines and sub-consultants engaged on this project, make site visits and undertake all liaisons with the Corporation and other stakeholders as required.

Expression of Interest documents may only be obtained through online registration and download from Saturday 25 June 2011 at the following website: www.tenders.qld.gov.au
