Mends Street Ferry Replacement Bus Stop Construction

The Public Transport Authority (PTA) operate ferry services between Elizabeth Quay, Perth and Mends Street Jetty, South Perth. When planned or unplanned disruptions take place to ferry services the PTA are required to maintain public transport access by providing a ferry replacement service. At present there is no formal disability compliant bus stop located close to the Mends Street Jetty. The PTA has permanently acquired the use of a number of on-street parking bay on South Perth Esplanade near the intersection with Harper Terrace. The City of South Perth have agreed to this on the proviso that the PTA offset the loss of the parking by increasing the capacity of the adjacent off-street City of South Perth car park (SPE3 Car Park). The PTA is seeking to engage a construction contractor to construct a disability compliant bus stop hardstand and connecting path, and construct the adjacent off-street car park modification to the satisfaction of the City of South Perth.
