Description
Tenders are sought to provide monitoring services to the Southern Zone Rock Lobster Fishery for the forthcoming fishing season from 1 October 2000 to 30 April 2001. During the season fishers catch rock lobster for sale to various companies involved in market distribution and processing. Quotas based on catch weight have been set for each licensed fisher by PIRSA Fisheries. The proposal is to engage a contractor to employ and manage monitors to attend at each of the 7 major landing ports along the south east coast to observe, count, tally, record and report each weighing of fish landed by the fishers. Monitors will be required every day of the season during designated core hours and on request during non-core hours. In addition, monitors will be required to maintain, and secure PIRSA scales at each dock on a daily basis and transport documents from each port to Mt Gambier on designated days of the week.
