Description
The works are to demolish, remove and reinstate the following structures at Larrakeyah Barracks and RAAF Base Darwin.
Larrakeyah Barracks:
• Married Quarters – Defence Housing Authority (DHA) is constructing new Married Quarters at Larrakeyah. Surplus married quarters have been returned to Defence for demolition. The works require the removal of the buildings, the paths, driveways, clotheslines, identified fencing, and all debris from site, terminate all services at the supply point and make good to ground.
• The Long Tan Club- has not been utilised for more than 10 years and is not intended for use again. The building does not meet current codes and standards. Works include removal of the total building and debris from site, terminate all the services at supply point and make good to existing foundation slab.
RAAF Base Darwin:
• Building 119 Hangar - The building is over 40 years old. The construction is steel framed with corrugated iron cladding with inadequate fixings. The hanger is adjacent to the main runway. Works include removal of the total building and debris from site, terminate all the services at supply point and make good to slab.
