Establishment of a Standing Offer Arrangement for the Provision of Professional Training and Educational Supplies

Safety in mines testing and research station (Simtars) is a functional entity of the Queensland Government’s Department of Natural Resources and Mines with extensive experience in the public and private sectors.

Simtars, through its Safety Training Centre (STC), is a registered training organisation (RTO) providing innovative safety training courses to a range of resource industries with the goal to assist in the improvement of safety and health standards and competency in these industries. The department recognises the criticality of the ongoing education and development of clients in continually delivering effective services and maintaining industry best practice. In support of this core service, the department is seeking to supplement the Simtars internal resources through contracted Professional Training and Educational Services.

The Queensland Government is seeking Proposals for the establishment of a Standing Offer Arrangement (SOA) Panel comprised of Suppliers with the demonstrated expertise, knowledge, experience and capabilities to support Simtars in the following Service Categories and Specialties:

• Category 1 - Support services for existing training programs and the development of new content and programs
• Category 2 - RTO governance, assurance and auditing
• Category 3 - Provision of qualified trainers and assessors to deliver and assess Simtars courses, domestically and internationally
