Description
Council desires to retain its parks as usable open space through the provision of a sustainable water supply, and as a result Council has developed a water plan that seeks to use the most cost effective method of supply. Council has a vision for a number of its larger reserves and ovals that can be aggregated to form an economic volume that will allow Council to provide a sustainable and alternative supply to mains water for irrigation. There are two potential sources of sustainable water that have been identified: the Glenelg Waste Water Treatment Plant and Stormwater harvesting.
