Headquarters Training Command-Army invites responses to a Request for Tender (RFT) for the commercial delivery of the Basic Medical Assistant Course (BMAC) for the Australian Army.
Description of Requirement
Army Logistic Training Centre require a Registered Training Organisation to deliver the BMAC at Health Services Wing (HSW), Army School of Administration and Health (ASAH), Latchford Barracks, Bonegilla, VIC, for the theory and procedural lessons, whilst a clinical placement utilises civilian and military medical/hospital facility.
The training outcome required is that on completion of the BMAC, the Medical Assistant will be competent to perform patient care, including outpatient and basic pre-hospital care, under direct or indirect supervision of an appropriately credentialled Nursing Officer or Medical Officer or an Advanced Medical Assistant. The Basic Medical Assistant may be employed in a level 1, 2 or 3 Regimental Aid Post or Medcial Centre, Combat Service Support Battalion or Health Support Battalion.
Period of Contract
The Contract is requried for a period of three (3) years, with an extension option for a further two (2) years. The successful tenderer will need to be in a position to commence transition from 20 November 2006 with operational delivery commencing 31 January 2007.

An Industry Briefing and site tour will be held at HSW, ASAH, Latchford Barracks, Bonegilla, VIC, on Wednesday 9 August 2006. All interested suppliers are encouraged to attend. The RFT document contains contact numbers for enquiries, draft Terms and Conditions of Contract and the draft Statement of Work.
