Asset Renewal (AR) Security Firewall Replacement

In 2015, the PTA completed a project to replace the Internet and Extranet firewalls that provide security from malicious activity between the PTA internal network and the internet. As part of this project, there was a requirement to add additional modules to the Firewall applications (Checkpoint) to improve the protection against various cyber threats that could impact on PTA operations. This required the procurement of the additional application modules and the higher specification hardware to be able to manage the additional workloads that this additional security required.

The infrastructure that was replaced as part of this project will reach end of life in the 2018/19 financial year and will require replacement. This requirement is highlighted in the IT Infrastructure Asset Management Plan.
