In July 2020, the Honourable Alannah MacTiernan MLC, then Minister for Ports publicly announced a $3.5 million funding into the demolition of the Berth 2 ship loader circuit which will allow for the optimisation of available land on Berth 2 and maximise trade growth throughout the region.
Southern Ports, Port of Esperance (SP) invites suitably experienced Contractors to tender for the removal of redundant bulk handling and export infrastructure from Berth 2. This Tender specification seeks to outline the requirements for the complete removal of the Berth 2 mineral concentrate circuit ship loader, conveyors CV2 and CV3, CV2/3 transfer tower, CV40 tail tower as well as shortening CV40 and construction of a replacement CV40 tail tower.
