Description

Department for Housing and Urban Development (previously known as Department for Trade and Investment) is seeking consultancy services for the above project. The aim of this project is to undertake necessary investigations to prepare a Stormwater Management Strategy (SWMS) for the proposed future development at the Sellicks Beach Growth Area (SBGA) in collaboration with key stakeholders. This SWMS is intended to provide:

  • An up-to-date holistic approach and framework to the stormwater management for the SBGA.
  • Evidence-based approach and guidance on how the stormwater discharges from the future development can meet ‘best practice’ guidelines and be to the satisfaction of Barossa Council and the other relevant authorities within the relevant water catchment area, having regard to stormwater flows (quantity) and pollutant discharges (quality).
  • Sufficient evidence that the proposed future development can meet the stormwater management requirements.
  • Information to help decision making process and future investments within the SBGA, incorporating considerations on:
    • Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) land take possibilities.
    • Climate resilience.
    • Innovative smart technology.
    • Integrated, cost effective solutions that maximise and complement the development opportunities.
    • Indicative costing, staging and sequencing of the stormwater management infrastructure.

The SWMS will be used to inform the development of the structure plan which forms a basis for Code Amendment and an associated Infrastructure Scheme for the SBGA and adjoining areas to manage stormwater effectively and efficiently. It is envisaged that more detailed stormwater management planning will be required to inform more detailed planning phases and expected to work through the engineering challenges in more detail with the relevant stakeholders.
