Interstate Travel Trade Engagement and PR Services

The Western Australian Tourism Commission, trading as Tourism Western Australia (Tourism WA) is a State Government statutory authority within the broader economic development portfolio of Jobs, Tourism Science and Innovation.

Tourism WA is seeking to engage an innovative and dynamic trade representation Contractor or Agency for the provision of the following representation services on the East Coast of Australia to do the following:

• Work closely with Tourism WA’s Domestic Market team, providing representation across the key markets of VIC, NSW and QLD;
• Develop and implement an Annual Trade Engagement Plan, including a schedule of training and incentive programs (including famils) to domestic travel trade;
• Provide in-market support to Tourism WA’s destination and events PR team in the implementation of consumer and trade PR strategies and activities;
• Increase visitation, yield and dispersal from target markets via trade training and ongoing travel trade engagement activities;
• Communicate effectively with industry, government and key stakeholders in market;
• Report trends and implement trade engagement and PR strategies that bolster Tourism WA’s domestic marketing efforts;
• Leverage Tourism WA’s brand platform and key messages via trade engagement and consumer PR activities.

The successful Respondent will work in collaboration with the Tourism WA head office domestic marketing team to support and enhance existing interstate activities. They will share in Tourism WA’s vision and add value to WA’s tourism industry, by promoting the State as a leisure holiday destination. This will be achieved by applying expertise in marketing to optimise Tourism WA’s investment in market, and, through nurturing alliances with the tourism industry in Australia.
