WA Health
Electronic Controlled Substance Register (ECSR) and Compatible Remote Locking Devices
Details
Description
The WA Health system and its Health Service Providers (HSPs) manage controlled substances using a combination of electronic and paper-based record keeping systems. The current practice of paper-based recording for medications distribution and inventory keeping is susceptible to inefficiency, error and vulnerable to diversion. Health Support Services (HSS) is seeking to replace the current paper-based systems with an electronic solution which will allow the WA Health system to mitigate the risks present in current practices and improve adherence to the legislative requirements.
The primary objective of the proposed Contract is for the provision of an Electronic Controlled Substance Register (ECSR) solution (Category 1), as well as the design, installation, commissioning and support for the application. The ESCR must be software based and have capacity to be deployed in an incremental manner across the WA Health system.
The proposed Contract will include an additional non-mandatory category: Category 2: Compatible Remote Locking Devices which have interconnectivity with the solution, for the enhanced management of Controlled Substances across HSPs.
The proposed Contract may be utilised by other State Agencies throughout the Term.
