Perth Zoo Main Lake Wetland Project

The Perth Zoo Main Lake Wetland Project ‘vision’ is two-fold, primarily to take the opportunity to make the Main Lake water body a more ecologically sustainable water feature, less dependent on the chemicals we now rely on to manage the water quality and as an educational opportunity to teach how we can manage these types of landscape features in an environmentally friendly way. The second is hopefully a by-product of those works where we take a current structured concrete lake and steel fence and turn it back into a softer, more natural feel, as well as rejuvenating the adjoining landscape areas to ensure clear access into the Zoo and beyond.
