Supply of Vaccines to the Communicable Disease Control Directorate

The Department of Health Communicable Disease Control Directorate (CDCD) requires the supply of vaccines for state funded programs.

The Communicable Disease Control Directorate (CDCD) purchases vaccines and distributes these throughout Western Australia, for programs that are funded by WA Health, and managed by the CDCD.

These programs, which help to prevent infection for high risk groups are:

• Pertussis vaccination for pregnant women;
• Post-exposure prophylaxis for people who have had possible exposure to rabies and lyssavirus;
• Vaccination for humanitarian entrants;
• Hepatitis vaccination for high risk groups; and
• Vaccinations for asplenic patients.

The Contract Authority is seeking to establish a multi-supplier Head Agreement for the ongoing supply of vaccines for a period of up to five years. Orders will be placed on an 'as- required' basis during the Term of the Head Agreement.
