Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley Disaster Adaptation Plan Options Flood Modelling Proposal - Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley Disaster Adaptation Plan

The NSW Reconstruction Authority (NSW RA) are currently preparing the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley (HNV) Disaster Adaptation Plan (DAP). The Hawkesbury-Nepean DAP has a focus on flood risk mitigation, given the exposure of the community in this area. There has been a long history of risk reduction options investigated for the floodplain, with options identified from 1997 (and earlier) through to the 2019 HNV Flood Risk Management Strategy Taskforce Options Assessment (prepared by Infrastructure NSW). As a part of the preparation of the DAP, an initial long list of options was identified for the study area based on previous work and input from a range of stakeholders . This included a range of options covering both evacuation and flood modification/mitigation. A total of 36 options were identified from this process for flood mitigation. An initial screening process was then undertaken by the DAP Options Assessment Framework, with 25 of those options identified for further assessment. NSW RA require flood model analysis of these options to understand their viability and inform the subsequent further assessment in the DAP. Supplier has been requested to provide this quotation to undertake an assessment of some of these options.
