Description

To ensure more Aboriginal people in Western Australia (WA) are protected against vaccine-preventable diseases, immunisation coverage rates need to increase. In line with the WA Immunisation Strategy 2024-2028 (the Strategy), the vision for every individual in every community at every stage of life to confidently engage with immunisation services requires investment. The aim of this grant is for the Aboriginal Health Council of WA (AHCWA) to consult with the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector (ACCHS) and community to identify key health promotion focus areas for improving immunisation coverage rates across the lifespan. This is to be achieved by improving partnerships and collaboration and enhancing sector and community confidence and trust. The initiative will be delivered in three phases: Community and workforce engagement to gather data and assess immunisation-related needs.Development of planned tailored health promotion strategies, resources, and sustainable support systems.Collaborative planning and reporting to guide future immunisation activities beyond 2026.
