The Installation of a Goods Lift and Loading Dock, and

The Department of Finance and Deregulation (Finance) is to lease the Finance owned building at 60 Denison St Deakin Canberra, previously known as the Royal Australian Mint (Mint) Administration Building, to the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research as represented by The National Science and Technology Centre (Questacon). Finance is to undertake building works to include each of the main elements as follows:

Loading Dock and Goods Lift

• removal of existing external wall including salvage for the Commonwealth of the specified sandstone and marble panels;
• construction of new lift shaft;
• supply and installation of 3.5 tone goods lift;
• construction of Loading Dock and Goods Lift; and
• alterations to existing base building toilets to allow for loading dock.

Carpark Extension

• demolition of sections of exiting carpark curb, stairs and path;
• bulk earth works for relocation on existing batter and associated landscaping; and
• construction of new carpark including relocation of existing sewer and storm water lines and ICON cable.
