Details
Description
Gippsland Regional Organics (GRO), is an Environment Protection Authority (EPA) licensed waste treatment facility, located within Gippsland Water’s Dutson Downs site. The facility treats solid and liquid organic wastes under two categories, namely priority and reportable - priority wastes.
The Dutson Downs property some 20 kilometres southeast of Sale comprising of 8,542 hectares of land. The organics facility operates within a defined 356 ha zone within this holding. Significantly, the holding provides a buffer zone for the treatment operations undertaken at the facility.
GRO is licenced to process up to 250,000 tonnes of waste per annum, and currently processes approximately 180,000 tonnes per annum. The facility currently manages approximately 80, 200 metre long windrows of compost throughout a production cycle.
Screening plays a vital role in the sizing of matured compost to produce Australian Standard AS4454 compliant compost. Site machinery is replaced as required based upon condition and hours of service. The older screen has reached its economic end of life and requires replacement.
Gippsland Water is seeking quotation for a Trommel Screen or equivalent to separate the Final Product maximum 15mm compost from the oversize windrow product compliant with AS4454 classification as soil conditioner.
