Description
The dredging works will include the following:
- The dredging of areas of Moresby Harbour, Careening Bay and the Armament Wharf and Careening Bay by appropriate means to achieve the required levels.
- Supply of all labour, equipment, materials, temporary works, support materials, survey and testing, including handling, storage and delivery to site all labour and other activities necessary to complete the Works.
- Identification, removal and disposal of debris on the seafloor in all areas to be dredged.
- Placement of dredge spoil at the nominated dredge disposal sites.
- Management of all environmental and approvals issues.
- All specified pre-dredge and post-dredge surveys of the dredge areas.
The intended outcome of these works is to ensure that ship berthing channels are clear of sedimentary deposits and debris allowing for uninterrupted Navy operations at the designated wharf or berth.
