VET Student Loans Ombudsman Videos

The office is seeking two short, entertaining videos which explain the role and functions of the VLSO for students and RTOs.

The purpose of these two videos is to explain the role of the VET Student Loans (VSL) Ombudsman. The two videos will have different audiences:

The first will be targeted towards students (i.e. people who have accessed or are considering accessing loan assistance under the VET FEE-HELP or VSL programs) and,

The second will be targeted towards Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).

The videos will be used in a variety of ways including social media, youtube, on the office's website, during presentations and may be provided to stakeholders.

The videos for this project will focus on the role of the VSLO, key messages include:

- The VSLO will provide a free, independant and impartial service to student and VET student loan scheme providers.

- Students can contact the VSLO if they believe they have been treated unfairly by their student loan scheme provider and have been unable to resolve the problem.

-The VSLO will conduct investgations and make recommendations and reports in relation to VET loan assistance under both the VET FEE-HELP and VET Student Loan programs.

- The VSLO will also give VET student loan scheme providers advice and training about best practice complaints handling.

The videos will be uploaded to our office's YouTube channel and the VSLO webpage on our website and linked to other government agencies' internet pages. The videos will also be used as external and cross-promotional marketing and may be included in e-newsletters, presentations and stakeholder engagement activities. They may also be promoted via stakeholders' social media channels.

Each video will be approximately two minutes in duration.
