TQEH AND LMHS PATIENT BEDSIDE SERVICES SYSTEM

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Lyell McEwin Health Service are currently undergoing major redevelopment programs which will include the provision of new ward accommodation. Contracts have been let for the new building work and construction has commenced. Systems for communication and the delivery of information will be integral to high level and efficient Health Care and Patient comfort and as such it is envisaged that these services should be delivered using the most up to date technologies currently available with an upgrade path to emerging technologies. In consideration of the above, “expressions of interest” are sought for the delivery of Patient Bedside Services using: - LAN based applications which conform to open standards capable of running over an IP Network. - An integrated hardware platform at the bedside. Registrations will be assessed on project specific responses received to the following selection criteria and the scoping documents: - Patient Bedside Services shall include but not be limited to entertainment such as free to air TV, Radio, and packaged content and patient support services such as Internet/Email access, telephone and hotel services. - The common hardware platform must also provide a secure portal to existing and proposed Hospital, clinical and administrative applications. - In addition to the above the Hospitals will view favourably proposals to incorporate existing Patient Assistance (Nurse Call) functionality and other enhanced capability such as interactive and video monitoring onto the above platform using LAN based technology. - Interested parties should also provide information on funding and operating models, which may or may not include participation by the Hospitals. A short list may be determined from the Registration of Interest responses received. The Hospitals have severe time constraints and hence it is envisaged that only organisations that can currently demonstrate a working model of a similar system will be in a position to tender should a request for tender be issued. Expressions of interest should be clearly marked with the name of the project and lodged in the Contractors Tender Box, Level 6, 30 Wakefield Street, Adelaide SA 5000. No registration will necessarily be accepted.
