The SSJ Project is an upgrade of existing rail systems at Sydenham to allow for Sydney Metro railway. • The reconfiguration of existing track and rail systems to segregate the Sydney Trains T3 Bankstown Line and the goods line, • Installation of Sydney Metro rail systems (including crossover and turn-back facilities), upgrading of Platforms 1 and 2 to Sydney Metro standards and construction of two new station entrances at Burrows Road and Railway Parade, • Erection of a new second concourse over the station with lifts and stairs to each platform. And straightening of the Sydney Metro platforms and platform screen doors • Improved interchanges between Sydney Trains & Metro services and to bus connections, and adjustments to the Sydenham Pit and Drainage Pumping Station
