Roof and Electrical Remediation Works 2017/2018

The RIA seeks the services of a suitably qualified Contractor to undertake roof structure inspection and remediation works as required on staff housing, commercial buildings and other structures on Rottnest Island. This year (2017) thirty nine staff houses, three ablution blocks, three beach shelters, and eleven commercial premises have been selected to undergo roof remediation. This includes seven significant heritage buildings that require approval of methodology and material use from State Heritage Council prior to commencement of any works. The Rottnest Island Authority is in the process of obtaining these approvals so this function does not form part of this tender. The tender also includes an option for 2018 works, the extent of which will be subject to available funding.

The RIA will also take this opportunity to include in the scope, inspection and remediation of the electrical distribution network and wiring within the roof cavities of individual buildings within the precinct where found to be non-compliant. In this regard an electrical audit is currently underway and will be provided to the successful tenderer once complete
