Description
The East Metropolitan Health Service requires the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning and maintenance of a Cardiology Cardiac Catheter Digital Imaging System and integrated Physiological Monitoring System for Royal Perth Hospital (RPH).
RPH is a major teaching hospital with an Emergency Centre and Coronary Care Unit. The cardiac catheter laboratories (Cath Lab) operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Procedures performed in the Cath Labs include:
- Angiograms;
- Angioplasty, including complex procedures such as chronic total occlusions and rotablation. There is also an active program utilising coronary physiological testing and intracoronary imaging with optical coherence tomography (OCT) and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS);
- Pacemaker implantation;
- Cardioverter defibrillator implantation;
- Direct Current (DC) cardioversion of atrial fibrillation structural heart disease cases, including balloon valvuloplasty, patent foramen ovale (PFO), and atrial septal defect (ASD) closure.
The RPH Cardiology department provides clinical service for planned Cardiac investigative procedures and emergency lifesaving procedures such as emergency percutaneous coronary (PCI) angioplasty for ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).
To support this activity the department has three cardiac catheter rooms with dedicated interventional and physiological monitoring equipment. Two rooms are adjacent to each other with identical equipment to facilitate emergency procedures in case one room is occupied or as a backup during equipment failures.
This Request is to replace one (1) Cardiology Cardiac Catheter Digital Imaging System and one (1) Integrated Physiological Monitoring System.
