Description
A function of NSW Resources is custodianship of the state’s most valuable exploration drill core and samples, and these are stored at specialised core libraries. MEG operates five core libraries, which are located at Londonderry, Broken Hill, Gulgong, Gunnedah and Yerrinbool. The core libraries at Gulgong, Gunnedah and Yerrinbool are being decommissioned. These three core libraries have been operating since the 1980s. During decommissioning some core will be disposed of and some relocated to the Londonderry facility, in western Sydney.
