Description
Mortuary Ambulances are used for the removal and transport of deceased persons when: a) no certificate as to the cause of death has been or will be issued by a Medical Practitioner or; b) the death is a "reportable death" within the meaning of the Coroners Act 1995. The Mortuary Ambulance is called at the direction of the Police and or Coroner or his nominee to remove and convey the body of the deceased to a nominated Public Mortuary. The operators of this service shall be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
