Description
The Perth and Peel Economic Development Strategy (EDS) is required for the Perth and Peel regions as foreshadowed in current work programs being undertaken by the Department of Planning. Generally, the strategy will assist government decision making through:
• Underpinning the structure plans to support the growing population for Perth and Peel;
• Recommending changes to the Economic and Employment Land Strategy (EELS) to support a population of 3.5 million in relation to industrial land for Perth and Peel;
• Providing modelling to allocate employment targets and determination of spatial requirements for activity centres to form part of the structure plans;
• Providing a framework for land use, infrastructure, movement networks and employment areas for the Perth and Peel regions; and
• Assisting to provide a plan to achieve higher residential densities and promote housing affordability and lifestyle choices.
The Department of Planning requires consultancy services to prepare an Economic Development Strategy for the Perth and Peel regions.
