Provision of Audio-Visual Digitisation Services

The State Library of WA (“the State Library”, the Customer) is an industry leader in digital and analogue preservation and seeks to expand its digital reach, collections and services; and improve how the community discovers, uses and shares collections.

The State Library’s audio-visual collections are held on a range of formats and form part of the highly valued WA Heritage Collection. The content spans more than 100 years and varies widely, from broadcast standard to amateur recordings and includes a range of government and private sector productions, motion picture films, short films, advertisements, documentaries, music, interviews, and personal recordings capturing people, places, and events, all unique to Western Australia.

The State Library seeks a single Contractor with relevant experience and expertise to digitise a range of audio and visual formats to the preservation standards described in this Request. Digitisation ensures Western Australia’s documentary heritage is preserved and accessible to the community, now and into the future.

The State Library will arrange and pay for the transport of the physical materials to and from the Contractor’s premises. The Contractor is required to deliver the digital files Free-into-Store (FIS) to the State Library on hard disk drives, supplied by the Contractor.
