QLD Department of Natural Resources and Mines
Natural Resources Inventory Update
Details
Description
The Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy has created the Natural Resources Inventory for Queensland as an interactive natural resources data website. It is the world’s first fully digital natural resources inventory, drawing on the extensive open data about the state’s land, water, vegetation, geological and energy resources.
We are seeking tender proposals on a practical and cost-effective approach to increase the functionality and richness of the public facing website, and provide ‘live’ or more frequent data updates.
The updated website must remain mobile-optimised and satisfy the needs of investors, industry groups and peak bodies with information about the general availability of resources, their use and the associated economic opportunities in Queensland.
Specifically, the Department is seeking proposals to develop the website to:
• update all data sources, and automate import and data wrangling processes
• enrich the information content and user experience through selected improvements to the website
• enrich the information content and user experience by expanding the range of topics
Applications that address all, or just one or two of the three elements above are welcome. The Department may choose to pursue one to all three of the above elements. Each deliverable may be awarded to a separate independent service provider.
