MNHHS105174 - Brighton - Roof Membrane Replacement - Contractor
Details
Description
Dolphin House, the largest building within the Brighton Health Campus, provides both rehabilitation and interim care services.
The existing roof to Dolphin House is a reinforced concrete slab that was constructed in approximately 1978. This slab is topped with a lightweight aerated concrete blinding layer to create local falls to existing inlet grates and overflow drains. This aerated concrete layer has been overlaid with a waterproofing membrane that has largely deteriorated beyond its serviceable life. Deterioration of the membrane has resulted in water ingress into the building with evidence of peeling paint, cracking and rust staining on walls and ceilings within the building. Continued water ingress has the potential to damage the building fabric through possible corrosion and concrete degradation.
The primary objective of the Project is to upgrade the Dolphin House waterproof roof membrane to comply with the requirements of AS4654.2-2012.
