Description

The proposed facilities to be delivered include the following elements:

RAAF Base Amberley

An extension to the existing hardstand is to be constructed on the south eastern end of the fuelling area. This extension will be approximately 174 m2.

RAAF Base Townsville

Work Site 1 has two shelters. Shelter one is 1034 m2 with a bunded hardstand of 1018 m2. Access to the shelter will require the installation of 2182 m2 of asphalt pavement and associated fill. The stormwater system modifications include the removal of an existing triple interceptor and replacement with an 8000 L SPEL Puraceptor as well as the installation of additional stormwater inlets and associated pipework.

Shelter two is 454 m2 over existing hardstand.

Three fire hydrants will be provided to ensure hydrant coverage of the new structures as well as three hose reels and three safety showers.

Security Fence modifications are required around the facility.

5th Army Aviation Regiment, RAAF Townsville

The shelter is 233 m2 over existing hardstand. Re-caulking and resealing of the existing hardstand will be required. Upgrades to the fire protection will include the provision of a hose reel and powder extinguisher on the structure and replacement of single head hydrant for dual head hydrants.

RAAF Base Williamtown

Shelter 1 is 2297 m2 over existing hardstand and includes the construction of a central fire wall. The existing kerbing is to be removedand new kerbing installed to redefine the parking bays

The stormwater system modifications include the installation and amendment to existing drainage infrastructure.

Shelter 2 is 278 m2 with a bunded hardstand. Access to the shelter will require the installation of 445 m2 of concrete pavement.

Three fire hydrants will be provided to ensure hydrant coverage of the new structures as well as four hose reels, powder fire extinguishers and two safety showers.

Security fence modifications and one gate will be required around the facility.

RAAF Base Richmond

The shelter is 1093 m2.The existing concrete hardstand is to be extended 1632 m2. The stormwater system modifications include the installation of an ACO drain, an additional stormwater inlet and associated pipework. Two fire hydrants will be removed, two existing single headed fire hydrants will be replaced with dual and one new fire hydrant will be installed. A relocated DN150 water main will provide flows to three hose reels and a safety shower. An existing safety will also be replaced with new. The site will be surrounded by a new Class 2 security fence.

6th Army Aviation Regiment, Holsworthy Barracks

The shelter is 278 m2, with a 173 m2 bunded hardstand. Access to the shelter will require the extension of the existing concrete pavement by an area of 773 m2. The stormwater system modifications include the installation of additional stormwater inlets and associated pipework to a new 8000 L SPEL Puraceptor.

A new fire hydrant shall be installed and provided flows via a new DN110 water main.

The site will be surrounded by a new Class 2 security fence and three additional gates will be installed.

RAAF Base Darwin

Work Site 1 has a new shelter which is 380 m2 with 256 m2 bunded hardstand. An additional concrete access roadway of 40 m2 is required. The stormwater system modifications include the installation of additional stormwater inlets and associated pipework.

A new DN160 water main (approximately 695m in length) will supply flows to a new hydrant and existing.

The new and existing structure will both have a hose reel, powder fire extinguisher and safety shower provided.

Existing Building 659 hardstand will be recalked and resealed and bunding shall be provided.

A new fire hose reel will be installed at existing Building 801.

Work Site 2 will consist of a 24 m2 extension to the existing hardstand and pavement marking for traffic control. A gable end will be provided to reduce the amount of wind blown rainwater that enters the building.

1st Army Aviation Regiment, Robertson Barracks

The shelter is 278 m2 with a 172 m2 bunded hardstand. Access to the shelter will require 958 m2 of concrete pavement. The stormwater system modifications include the installation of additional stormwater inlets and associated pipework. The new structure will have a hose reel, powder fire extinguisher and safety shower. A new fire hydrant is to also be installed.

RAAF Base Tindal

Work Site 1 will consist of a 66 m2 extension to the hardstand and will include associated pavement marking for traffic control.

Work Site 2 has a 131 m2 shelter for a cantilever structure over an existing hardstand. The new shelter requires a powder fire extinguisher, hydrant installation and installation of a hose reel at existing Building 461.

RAAF Base Learmonth

The shelter is 650 m2 with a 485 m2 bunded hardstand. Access to the shelter will require the installation of 1499.5 m2 of concrete pavement and associated fill. The stormwater system modifications include the installation of additional stormwater inlets, associated pipework and a table drain with a rock scour outlet. The new structure will have a hose reel and safety shower. A fire water tank, two hydrants and associated pipework would be installed by variation only.

RAAF Base Curtin

A painted line in the bunded area is to be provided.

HMAS STIRLING

The shelter is 278 m2 with a 173 m2 bunded hardstand. Access to the shelter will require an extension of 284 m2 of asphalt pavement within the DFI. The alignment of Brighton Road will need to be widened with 225 m2 of asphalt. The stormwater system modifications include the installation of additional stormwater inlets and associated pipework and pumps. The new structure will have a safety shower, hose reel and powder fire extinguishers.

The realignment of an existing pathway will require 124 m2 of asphalt.

Security fence modifications including a sliding gate will also be provided.

RAAF Base Edinburgh

The shelter is 1950 m2 with a 1846 m2 bunded hardstand. The stormwater system modifications include the installation of an ACO drain to the existing grated drains. A new DN160 water main (approximately 222 m in length) will supply flows to a hydrant.

A relocated DN150 water main will provide flows to three hose reels and two safety showers. The site will be surrounded by a new Class 2 security fence.

Woomera Test Facility

The shelter is 278 m2 with a 173 m2 bunded hardstand. Access to the shelter will require the removal of existing concrete pavement and installation of 791 m2 of concrete pavement.

The stormwater system modifications include the removal of a non-compliant humeceptor and replacement with an 8000 L SPEL Puraceptor as well as the installation of additional stormwater inlets and associated pipework.

Two new water connections will be provided to accommodate a hose reel, safety showers and two hydrants located near the structure.

A new 118 m2 bunded hardstand will be constructed at the fuel transfer area.

RMAF Base Butterworth

The existing slab at the offloading, dispensing areas and current maintenance bay will be repaired by caulking and resealing a section of the slab. Alteration of the pipework will occur to allow the dimensional fit of the new ARVs within the existing hardstand.

Management of contaminated soil from excavations are required at a number of the sites.
