Australian Government Department of Defence
Contract to Dispose of Defence Assets and Inventory
Details
Description
The Commonwealth has range of assets and inventory which it seeks to dispose of in an efficient and effective manner that also provides value for money to the Commonwealth whilst complying with all applicable State and Commonwealth legislation and applicable policies.
The Commonwealth is seeking to enter into an arrangement with a Purchaser who will purchase the assets and inventory from the Commonwealth and take title of those assets and inventory, and may be required to undertake various activities to “demilitarise” and/or “sanitise” those assets and then on-sell those assets on a profit sharing basis. The Purchaser may also be required to provide ad-hoc advice to assist the Commonwealth in making a determination on how to best dispose of an asset.
The Commonwealth expects that the Purchaser will utilise on-line sales or an auction company who has significant market reach, proven marketing experience and is widely accepted as a market leader in the sale of the types of assets and inventory that is planned to be disposed under the proposed Contract.
