11339EDC Engineering Design Consultant, Thoroughbred Turf Racing Surface & Associated Items, Townsville Turf Club, Cluden Park, Townsville

Racing Queensland (RQ) wish to invite Tenders for the provision of Engineering Design Consultant Services for the schematic design phase, detailed design documentation phase, and construction delivery phase for the turf racing surface and associated items as described in the project scope.

This service is to provide design advice, engineering drawings and documentation sufficient to facilitate a design suitable to define the project requirements for the track upgrade to include for earthworks, outcomes for services, stormwater and drainage requirements, electrical, water, irrigation, communications, crossings, access roads, buildings.

The Consultant shall be responsible for the detailed design of the components described above and shall include:

• New turf racing surface (reinforced sand profile)
• Drainage & flood mitigation
• Provision for irrigation (inground, automated, soil sensors, remote operation)
• Consideration of TTC operational activities for training and use of infield
• Stakeholder Local, State and Federal authorities negotiations, as required
• Consideration in reference to the Federal road network upgrade adjacent to Cluden Park Racecourse

The Consultant is expected to liaise with Racing Queensland and the TTC to facilitate acceptable outcomes for the above components and should allow for meetings, site visits and collection of information /data to enable and complete the design and project delivery.

All documentation submitted will be treated as confidential by Racing Queensland and will be assessed in accordance with Racing Queensland’s probity requirements.
