Provision of External Plant Hire & Ancillary Support Services 2020 -2023

The Port of Townsville Limited (“the Port”) is looking for suitably qualified suppliers to provide operators and plant (“wet hire”) and associated labour and miscellaneous consumables on a defined hire rate.

Applications are being sought from the owners of plant and operators for hire to be registered and included on the Port’s panel of approved suppliers for the provision of “wet hire”.

There are three separable portions being:

1. Civil Equipment
2. Vac Trucks
3. Tractor Combination

Tenderers are able to submit prices for any and or all separable portions and the intention is for the Port to develop a supply arrangement with qualified and capable suppliers for each portion.

This panel is to enable workers at the Port to select suitable plant, labour and equipment at the best value for money option to supplement its own plant fleet on Civil and Maintenance programs and projects.

The provision of the “wet hire” services will be ad-hoc and operational in nature and generally in work packages of engagements of no longer than five (5) working days.

Where plant and operators are required for works of a “capital” nature the SOA may be utilised however the Port does retain the right to undertake a separate quotation/tender process should we believe that this will provide a better outcome for the Port.

The key dates are:

• Mandatory briefing meeting (this will be via a Teams Meeting invite) – Thursday 29^th of October @ 10:30am.
• Tenderers to have their nominated rep contact details submitted by Tuesday 27^th of October by 2:00pm.
• Closing date Wednesday 11^th of November @ 10:00am
