Mapping and habitat condition assessment of NSW Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens - P24-7454

There will be an overall assessment of the ecological values of the site with particular emphasis on threatened species, endangered ecological communities and key fauna habitat features. The following deliverables will be achieved through this project: · Literature Review and Gap Analysis (Milestone 2) - Literature review of existing condition assessment and prioritisation work on Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens · Condition Assessment and Prioritisation Process/Plan (Milestone 3) - Develop (in consultation with SE LLS and stakeholders) a suitable process (including desktop assessment and ground truthing components) for assessing condition and prioritising Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens sites in NSW through synthesis of existing processes and proposing new initiatives if appropriate · Spatial Mapping and Condition Assessment Report (Milestone 4) - Implement desktop assessment including spatial mapping of condition and prioritisation of Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens sites in NSW for on-ground intervention works · Ground truthing of select Alpine Sphagnum Bogs & Associated Fens sites in NSW (Milestone 5A)- Implement ground truthing of select Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens sites in NSW identified through Milestone 3 to validate desktop assessment process · Addendum to Condition Assessment Report (Milestone 5B) – Prepare a final report which combines outputs from previous tasks and results of the ground truthing process into a final report, with accompanying maps and database/s.
