Description
Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) on behalf of the Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing (NPSR), are inviting offers from contractors for the final design and full construction of Astrebla Downs Ranger Base Accommodation.
Astrebla Downs National Park is 174,000 hectares in size and located a further 2hrs drive southwest from Diamantina NP. It is the most remote park within Western Rivers and is managed by staff from other bases such as Longreach, Charleville and Rockhampton. The existing facilities (dongas) are in extremely poor condition and do not meet departmental housing requirements.
Significant work has already been completed as part of the planning stage and includes Geotechnical testing and engineering advice. An advanced concept design has been completed and approved in consultation with internal and external stakeholders
